With marked river, woodland, seaside and farm walks direct from the door, the properties are all situated just off the Ayrshire Coastal Path, www.ayrshirecoastalpath.org -Scotland’s long distance walking route along one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the British Isles. The coastline is crowned with a superb backdrop of the ever-changing profile of Ailsa Craig and the mountains of Arran across the Firth of Clyde. The area is steeped in history and teeming with wildlife, including red squirrels, roe deer, otters and seals and is a haven for bird watchers on the moors and estuary.

It has a sunny sheltered position facing south, is set back from a quiet lane and stands alone. High Mains Cottage has its own large garden and is perfectly placed for exploring the rugged beauty of the Ayrshire coast. The cottage is about 200 years old, whitewashed with a traditional slate roof and has been beautifully restored. There is a colourful cottage garden, with garden furniture and a barbecue.
There is a large attractive country kitchen, which is well equipped for keen cooks, and the sitting room has a cosy atmosphere with wood-burning stove. All three bedrooms are well decorated and there is both a bath and shower room
