The 'Wee Tree Howf' is a secluded romantic getaway , sitting on the banks of its own lochan. It is quite simply unique, it is most definitely not one in a group! All our guests over the years have loved it.
Totally secluded with amazing views of the lochan and coutryside beyond, you are immersed in the environment but have a very special place to stay. This romantic tree house for two lets you experience something special, totally immersed in the wildlife and surrounding countryside. The Wee Tree Howf is built on stilts, amongst the trees with a burn running right underneath!! It has the most quirky stair case to take you up to the Robinsob Crusoe style bedroom. The woodwork is wonderful! Down stairs you have a wood burning stove, cooker and gas hob. A roll top bath to relax in whilse watching the wildlife and the flames in the stove. You also have your own shower and compost loo.
In the evening sit outside by the open fire beside the lochan, barbecue or cook on the camping gas. Using the pulley pull a bottle of wine or beer up from the 'fridge in the burn' and enjoy views over the Ochils, or watch the fish jump. In the summer the swallows will dip in the water... You will be treated to lots of birds, wildlife, our two highland cows, soay sheep, ponies and much more.
At the end of the day settle down in the sumptuous double bed, star gaze through the star gazing window and listen to the burn bubbling under the 'Wee Tree Howf'.
Attached to the Wee Tree Howf you will find the toilet/shower, all located in a little cabin of their own - the Wee Wee Howf!
Craighead also boasts our own honesty shop for the things you may have forgotten or for the days you just don’t want to leave, in the shop you will also find additional wood and charcoal for the fire pit and BBQ. We also have some lovely local craft and some local procuce.
