Spectacularly set between breath-taking mountains and the loch's edge, enjoy a memorable game on this superb, 9-hole parkland course. It's not just the location that is special (and this must surely be one of the most dramatic and beautiful loch-side locations in the Highlands), the course itself offers delight, magic and challenge.
The Woodlands Golf Course has quickly become a firm favourite with golfers far and wide. Why?

The Woodlands Golf Course at Ballachulish is located on an undulating, tree-lined estate at the entrance to mighty Glencoe, just south of Fort William. Wide sweeps of grassland drop down to almost touch the loch. Panoramas from each of the challenging holes are breathtaking and the quality of the fairways matches mightier courses in Scotland. 5,038 yard, par 68/65 course.
The course offers all the facilities you would expect, including club hire, golf carts and friendly advice.
For the non-golfer, there is also lots to do. Many rambles and local forest walks start from The Clubhouse. Here you will also find E-Bike hire, Segway tours, Archery and Laser Clay Shooting!
The course boasts fantastic USGA greens, allowing all year round putting and giving firm, dry summer putting surfaces. It stands up very well to whatever the west coast climate can throw!
Golfers of all standards find delight and challenge at this new golf course (opened in 2001). The course is smothered in flora and founa . Mature trees of all kinds enhance the edges of the fairways, from shapely old oaks overhanging the second green and hidden yew trees that are over two hundred years old. In the spring, Bluebells carpet the riverbank that runs through the heart of the course as it sweeps down into Loch Linnhe from the dramatic Glen Ahulish gorge above.
0ur visitor book is full of great feedback with most visitors commenting on the quality of the course and the breathtaking views.
A recent quote from "THE INDEPENDANT GOLFER" :
"Across Scotland there are a number of nine hole golf courses that have recently been put in by farmers and their families. They have replaced sheep with golfers, the Woodlands Estate is one of the finest examples of these to be found."
The Clubhouse has an honesty bar and lounge area, offering panoramic views across the ninth hole to the sea beyond. Whether you're staying in Fort William, driving by or playing golf, it's a stunning location to stop, relax and enjoy a good coffee whilst chatting over the day ahead. Of course there are changing facilities and toilets, alongside a reception area where you will pick up essentials such as scorecards, balls and latest gossip.
