Follow in the footsteps of Captain Scott and Ernest Shackleton aboard the Royal Research Ship Discovery at the multi award-winning Discovery Point, and experience their Antarctic adventures brought to life. And, step back in time to Dundee in 1901 with our latest addition, the Discovery Dome; an immersive audio-visual experience with British artist Luke Jerram's 'Gaia' as its centrepiece, accompanied by narration from Alan Cumming. In 1901 Captain Robert Falcon Scott set sail in Dundee-built Discovery. As part of the epic voyage Scott and his men spent two long harsh winters frozen into the crushing Antarctic ice. Discovery returned home in 1904 to a hero's welcome and a place in maritime history. Its remarkable 120+ year history spans oceanographic research, wartime, Antarctic voyages, Sea Scouts and more. Climb aboard the Royal Research Ship to discover life above and below deck! An unforgettable day out for the whole family, at the heart of Dundee's waterfront.
