Snowgoose Apartments are family run accommodation in one of Scotland's premier holiday locations both for touring around Scotland and also an ideal holiday accommodation destination for independent outdoor enthusiasts - all year round. Or for just chilling out!
The accommodation is situated on the banks of the Caledonian Canal and the tidal waters of Loch Linnhe with the very best views towards Ben Nevis and the surrounding mountains.
We offer flexible, self contained accommodation to sleep 2 – 4 persons or 6 persons Forge, Anvil and Farriers apartments with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms. All the apartments have fully equipped self catering kitchens with everything is included in our prices including bedding, towels and electricity. There is access to our drying rooms, mountain bike & canoe store plus a wealth of local information available from our reception area. Snowgoose Mountain Centre also offers an ideal base to take part in our adventure activities or to independently explore the surrounding west coast with its unique blend of landscape and a huge variety of outdoor activities for all levels. Ideally located near the SW end of the Caledonian Canal there is easy access to the Great Glen Way, Great Glen Canoe Trail & Mountain Bike route – as well as the West Highland Way. We are close to Ben Nevis with skiing at nearby Nevis Range and its all year round gondola facility, snowsports and mountain bike trails. Glen Nevis, Glencoe, Glenfinnan, Ardnamurchan and the Road to the Isles are all within easy reach. Experience our unique mountain, coastal and marine landscape of the west coast, a huge variety of other local outdoor activities, local history and heritage, fishing wild life, geology and flora. The accommodation and activity centre have been in continuous operation for the past 30 odd years with experienced mountain and paddlesports guides & instructors. We offer guiding services, adventure activity holidays & courses for canoeing, kayaking, sailing and mountain walking holidays. Winter climbing courses, mountain guides for Ben Nevis and wilderness expeditions are highly acclaimed by our students our inspirational outdoor skills training. If you have some previous experience and skills then take advantage to enjoy the great outdoors with our full range of outdoor equipment hire – open canoes; white water & sea kayaks; hill walking & winter mountain boots, ice axe & crampons. Directions Travelling by car to Snowgoose Mountain Centre & The Smiddy Bunkhouse If you are coming by car from the south take the A82 North from Fort William towards Inverness for approx 1 mile. Take the left turn at the small round north of Fort William, sign posted to A830 to Mallaig. Go over the River Lochy Bridge towards Mallaig for about 2 miles to the village of Corpach. If you are coming by car from the north take the left hand turn at the round about just north of Fort William on to the A830 towards Mallaig. Just before the Co-op shops in the village of Corpach take the left hand turn sign posted down to the train station and Caledonian Canal - at the large brown & white signs for Smiddy Bunkhouse & Snowgoose Mountain Centre.

If arriving by train please book to Corpach, stay on the train in Fort William and get off right outside the accommodation - 2 stops out from Fort William - better than getting a bus or taxi from Fort William.
There are direct rail /coach connections to the south via Glasgow with excellent air / car hire links to Inverness,Edinburgh and Glasgow airports.Trains and coaches from Fort William connect to Glasgow and thence direct to the south. It is possible to get a train direct from Euston to Corpach Station. The Jacobite (Harry Potter!) steam trains run on a regular basis to Mallaig in the summer (May – October). There is a convenient overnight Sleeper Train which runs to/from Fort William.
Local buses (3 min walk away) run every 20-30 mins to / from Fort William during the day until 1800 hrs. Every hour after 1800 hours until 2300 hrs.Sheil buses also run a fairly frequent service out to Mallaig and some locations on the Ardnamurchan Peninsular.
Our accommodation is a large timber clad building on the left just as you enter the property. Our office / reception is further along the site – another large timber clad building. This is usually open from 9am – 5pm. Please wait in the car park if we are not around for some reason – or call us on 01397 772467 – we will not be far way and will be with you within a few minutes. Please let us know if you will be arriving after 8pm.
