Loch Doon is southern Scotland's largest inland loch and is a popular destination for walkers and cyclists. The area boasts some of the UK's darkest skies and the nearby town of Dalmellington is home to the Scottish Dark Sky Observatory - part of the UK's first Dark Sky Park in the Galloway Forest Park. After dark all you have to do is look up to see the night sky come to life. This area is also part of the UNESCO Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere - a world renowned area for people living harmoniously with nature.
