The Park Ecovillage Findhorn community extends to individuals, businesses and organisations beyond the ecovillage settlement and includes wider-community members in the surrounding towns and villages including Kinloss, Forres, Findhorn (the fishing village) and beyond.
Since 1962, this community has pioneered sustainable solutions, fostering the highest in human potential, working in co-creation with the natural world. It is a well-known living experiment and demonstration centre using holistic approaches, integrating spiritual, social, ecological and economic aspects of sustainability.
There are gardens, sanctuaries, a shop and cafe, and over 50 innovative ecological buildings, including recycled whisky-barrel houses, a strawbale house, a guest lodge with a grass roof, and a 300 seater Universal Hall and community space. There are examples of creative uses of local materials, several wind turbines and The Living Machine, an ecological sewage and water treatment system. There is also an art centre, two potteries and weaving studio.
Each year, the Ecovillage Findhorn welcomes visitors to the community, offering tours around the settlement. The Findhorn Bay Holiday Park, hosts caravans, eco-pods and chalets for short terms guests and offers camping opportunities for family holidays.
