Situated upon the clifftops of Quarrel Sands just outside of North Berwick, Drift is one of Scotland’s most breath-taking coffeehouses – with a difference.
It is a farm diversification project developed by local farmers from a love of quality food and coffee and has made quite a name for itself as a must-visit destination.
Visitors exploring the East Coast should make time to pop in for breakfast, brunch, lunch or for the homemade baking whilst enjoying unrivalled views of Bass Rock, Firth of the Forth and Fife.
Everything on the menu is freshly made in the Drift kitchen using locally sourced or Scottish produce and champions all that is great about Scottish agri-tourism.
Established in 2018 and growing from strength to strength - the unique café is made up from a collection of upcycled containers with the option to sit-in and enjoy the views of Bass Rock or to sit outside in the outdoor seating area.
Picnic tables surrounded by planted herbs offer comfortable seating to take in the sea air.
Potato boxes overlooking Quarrel Sands beach are also available, and the café welcomes all visitors with dogs outside – drinking water will be in ready supply and handy hooks under each table will allow guests not to worry about their furry friend.
We recommend you book a table ahead of arriving to ensure you will not be disappointed however take-away is available from the newly converted horse trailer for those just passing by.
Enjoy some of the best views on offer as well as the chance to experience the sea life – you might even be lucky enough to spot a pod of dolphins playing not too far from the shore.
Drift is also aligned with Visit Scotland’s new health and safety industry standard ‘We’re Good to Go.’
