We are delighted to invite you to enjoy Mount Stuart exclusively, with luxurious accommodation for up to 12 guests, across 6 double bedrooms within the house (additional guests can be accommodated in our delightful self-catering properties located across the island) and full use of all facilities including the Purple Sitting Room and the Billiard Room. We will work with you to create a bespoke package to meet the needs of you and your guests, guaranteeing you private use of the house during your stay.
Mount Stuart is located on the Isle of Bute, the most accessible island off the west coast of Scotland.
The Isle of Bute is approximatley 50 minutes awar from Glasgow by road or rail, followed by a 35 minute ferry crossing from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay. Alternatively another ferry runs from Colintraive to Rhubodach, taking less than 5 minutes. Mount Stuart is 5 miles south of the island's principal town: Rothesay, and is well signposted from the ferry terminal.
Arriving by Air
There are daily international flights into and out of Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick airports, with rail and bus links to Glasgow from both. If you are driving you can reach Bute from either airport in about an hour and a half, which includes the 35 minute ferry crossing from Wemyss Bay.
Arriving by Rail
Glasgow Central Station runs a regular train service to and from Weymms Bay, with an ornately covered walkway leading you directly to the ferry office. Please see National Rail Enquiries for timetable information.
Arriving by Ferry
Caledonian MacBrayne (Calmac) operate two ferry routes offering a daily and frequent service to the Isle of Bute: the main route from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay (taking approximately 35 minutes), and another from Colintraive in Argyll to Rhubodach (taking less than 5 minutes).
