Beauly

Beauly is a beautiful village which is ideal for a day out or a longer break, and offers a range of excellent and varied things to do, shops, eating places, and places to stay, all just a 20 minute drive from the Highland capital of Inverness.

Step back in time and explore the remains of the stunning Beauly Priory, a location mentioned in the Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon.

The River Beauly is a renowned salmon river, but also provides some of the gentler walks around the village. If it's trout fishing you’re interested in, pop into Morison's the Ironmongers on the High Street for more local information. You can also indulge some fantastic shopping at the Old School Beauly and make sure you visit the historic (and legendary) Campbell's Tweed shop which still makes estate tweed outfits for many of the Highland estates, and visiting royalty!

Enjoy tasty food and delicious drinks at the award-winning deli Corner on the Square, or some home-made focaccia, cakes and coffee at Café Biagotti

And if you're looking to hear some traditional music, Beauly plays host to pipe bands who perform in the square every Thursday evening during the summer for your listening pleasure!
