Only in Scotland can the sight of a giant crocodile be amusing rather than alarming! The Crocodile Rock itself has been around for millions of years, but it was only a century ago a local by the name of Mr Brown – after one too many lunchtime drinks - decided to break out his paintbrush and give the rock its now-famous pearly whites. It’s been repainted many times over the years and is now one of Cumbrae’s best-loved landmarks.
