Start your adventure around aptly-named Great Cumbrae in its ‘capital’ – the picture-postcard town of Millport. This wee town has no shortage of things to see and do and is just three miles from the Cumbrae Ferry Terminal. Wander through the shops, cafes and pubs of its beautiful Victorian promenade; pay a visit to the Cathedral of the Isles (Britain’s smallest); or hire a bike from one of the town’s cycle shops and explore its sights on two wheels. Who knows – you might even come face-to-face with Scotland’s friendliest crocodile. Don’t let his pearly whites scare you, though – he’s thoroughly tame!
