Absorb the peaceful atmosphere of Beauly Priory, founded in about 1230 by a lesser known order of monks, known as the Valliscaulian order. Set in a gorgeous spot, near the meandering River Beauly, you can stroll amongst what remains of the priory buildings including the reconstructed North Transept and the towering nave.
There are also lots of grave sites to see including impressive tombs from the 1400s and monuments to local townspeople. Wander amongst the mature trees in the grounds and look out for the ancient elm tree.
