Although these foaming waterfalls are worth seeing in their own right, they are perhaps most famous as one of the best places in Scotland to see wild Atlantic salmon leaping upstream to their spawning ground – a truly awe-inspiring sight to behold! Visit between May and November to see the salmon leaping up the falls (the peak time to visit is over the summer months) and head out on one of the Falls of Shin trails to enjoy a refreshing stroll through ancient woodland.
