Just east of Ballater on the eastern edge of the Cairngorms National Park, the Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve covers over 1,100 hectares and boasts some of the prettiest woodlands and scenery in Deeside. Enjoy enchanting walks through woodlands, wander around Loch Kinord or venture on the circular Burn O’ Vat trail, keep your eyes peeled for birdlife, animals and delicate wildflowers, and head to the visitor centre to learn more about how the reserve has evolved and changed over time.
