Summer

Summer is the prime opportunity to soak up the sunshine, feel the fresh breeze and go fruit picking. You’ll find a tasty selection of in season fruit to pick from leafy hedgerows. Fill your punnet with strawberries, or find a new fruit to try including ripe and juicy tayberries, brambles, gooseberries, cherries and much more. Summer in Scotland is abundant, so now is also the time of year to get out and about and enjoy unique farm experiences, such as visiting a lavender field or picking your own sunflowers.

This is also a great time of year to try all things watersports! Combine a trip to the farm with activity experiences including sheep sheering, speed boats, canoeing and kayaking.

Influencer Niamh Mackinnon enjoys a farm tour with a difference

Niamh recently went on an adventure to Loch Lomond and the surrounding area - find out why her tour of Portnellan Farm was the highlight of her trip.

Niamh's farm tour and boat trip around Loch Lomond gave her a whole new perspective! Why not book a farm experience on your Scottish holiday?

"I would have never thought of visiting a farm before this trip, as I live on a Scottish island and am surrounded by farm animals. However, this was no ordinary farm experience – with an amazing host family and spectacular views of Loch Lomond, it ended up being a highlight of the trip. The farm visit exceeded all expectations; unlike typical tours where you view animals from a distance, we were brought right up close to the cows and calves. We were then treated to tea and homemade baking, and our delightful chat with the family made the experience far more engaging and memorable."
